Month of Prayer and Repentance

If you haven't done so already, please listen to Rick's sermon at http://www.imagodeicommunity.com/information/sermons/the-call-to-community/. At this time all ministry activity, outside of the Sunday service, is cancelled for the remainder of May.

We will instead be gathering together in prayer at Evangel on Wednesday nights from 7pm to 9pm. Doors will be open at 6pm if you would like to come early to pray on your own. Parking is available around the Evangel neighborhood. Please car pool if you can. We, as the leaders of our Lents Home Community, will be there for the next 4 Wednesday nights, and are highly encouraging every one of you to come and join our church family at this time. It will be exciting and humbling to see how our God will reshape our Imago Dei family.

To add some clarity for the purpose of this time Rick and the Elders have called our Imago Dei Community into, it is to come together as a whole and bring our hearts before God in a posture of Repentance. Fasting from other ministry activity, including our lents home community, will help remind us of the whole body rather than our specific responsibilities or communities. It will help lead us to rely on God, rather than our normal everyday activities within the church. This is an opportunity, as a united body, to seek God's direction for our community rather than come up with our own course or direction and default to the empire's way of responding.

What this doesn't mean is we can't see eachother this month. We would encourage everyone to continue to talk, eat, pray and live life intentially together, without our formal home community meeting on Sundays. Feel free to use the blog, or ask one of the leaders to use the blog to invite as well, like the Smith's did on Sunday.

****For Parents - There will be an infant and 1&2 year-old rooms available. All rooms will be under parental or friend supervision. Parents can trade off one person praying for an hour and the other being with the kids. We also encourage trusted families who are friends to watch each others kids. There will be leaders and parents in the family areas that will lead out with prayer and conversation as well. For parents staying at home with your children, please be praying from home in solidarity with our church body.
